A series documenting my partner in armour. I had never heard of the International Medieval Combat Federation before I began dating a member of the Scottish Knight League and the Captain of the Glasgow Sword Breakers. Having been unlucky in love a knight in shining armour was a ridiculous fantasy I had long since retired. He handed me a gauntlet and a mace and told me to hit him. I knew this was going to be the start of something wonderful. His sense of justice and chivalry is that of another time, perhaps an imaginary one. IMCF is a full contact sport rooted in historical accuracy, not to be mistaken for LARPing. I found one of the last knights and may even be one in the future.
